❌ BIG MISCONCEPTION WITH BUYING FARMS AND LAND! 🚜🌾 “I need a farm loan to buy a farm.” The answer is... maybe, but probably not! Many lenders will say, or buyers assume, they cannot purchase a farm, farmette, or property with acreage using a traditional mortgage. I have heard many frustrated and saddened buyers complain - "My lender said they will not give me a loan if the property is over 10…20… 25+ acres! What do I do?!” Let me break down some of the pros and cons, and benefits and challenges, with using a farm credit or agribusiness service as opposed to a traditional mortgage. Some considerations to keep in mind: 💡 Are you buying the home as your primary residence? 💡 Are you using the land to create income that you need to pay your mortgage? 💡 If you are moving a business to the property, is your business independent of the land - aka is not reliant on the physical property to exist?
